Emotion Marionettes - Feeders of One's Mental Being

The individuals you see here are an unusual type of being, called Soul Puppets. They are actually captured human souls, bound into either a puppet body or a real human one. And each soul inside possesses an extreme level of a specific emotion or represent one of the Seven Mortal Sins.

Emotionettes (Emotion Marionettes in full) have the ability to manipulate their represented emotion on those who are in their surroundings, able to heighten them to the extent of insanity, or to the brink of losing such that one's life seems empty.

This group of Soul Puppets consists of seven members, six of which represent the six basic emotions: Anger, sadness, fear, joy, love and surprise. The last one representing one's sanity. It may not be an actual emotion, but it can influence and be influenced by such. They have varying skills, spells and abilities, but their signature ability is that they can rise the specific emotion they represent in an individual and eradicate the other emotions with a poetic incantation. This can be interrupted while being cast, but once it has taken effect, the only way to cure their victim(s) is by killing the Emotionette that caused it. ...this is easier said than done.

Sanity, the Emotionette of Sanity
Human/Mortal name: Danrick Caine
Incantation:
"Go to rest dear, forget all your troubles...
they have forgotten you, but there's no need to tremble.
Tomorrow's a better day, wake up and see,
the welcoming face of true insanity..."

Sanity is the leader or the master of this group. He is also actually the most dangerous of the seven, not only being unpredictable in terms of battle style, but also in the fact he can call upon the abilities of his allies to aid him. His presence can also affect the behavior of both his allies and enemies, whether positively or negatively is up to him. Unlike the other six Emotionettes, rather than heightening his represented "emotion", he completely eradicates it from his chosen target(s).

His personality is quite queer, being a seeming gentleman in the eyes of many when calm, but turning into a psychopathic sadist when simply agitated. He also has a tendency to kill, rape or abuse blonde women, something that might have been caused by an event in his traumatic past.

Scorn, the Emotionette of Anger
Human/Mortal name: Joshua Davis
Incantation:
"Remember the past, the torture you felt.
The people around you, ignoring your cries for help.
Let rage envelope you, see their souls ripped and torn,
Release the burning sensation of scorn..."

Bearing almost indestructible metallic claws that can easily tear through flesh as if it is butter, many can correctly guess his preferred tactics are rather reckless, charging into his enemies not caring about his own safety. ...however, this is due to his insatiable desire to witness every being to perish by his own hands. His heart burns in agony, continually releasing his anger on anything he can get his hands on, even his comrades.

In his past mortal life, Joshua is the underdog of his gang. Being pushed around, ordered, treated like a slave in short, he can't take any more of this abuse. At that fateful day, he decided to show to his "friends" what he thinks about his maltreatment.... .....in a quite violent manner. The outnumbered man was quickly beaten to a bloody pulp, thrown into a dumpster and left to die. The moment his soul has risen back up and set foot again in this world, the first thing on his mind was vengeance. ....but despite achieving so, he still feels tormented. Not a single piece of comfort is found. His heart still burns with this rage he cannot contain, hoping his tragic afterlife would either give him the comfort he deserves, or simply end along with his suffering.

Despair, the Emotionette of Sadness
Human/Mortal name: Zuriel Ordoñez
Incantation:
"Forgotten, alone, ignored every night.
Forever out of mind, forever out of sight.
Come with me, take my hand, I'll take you to my lair...
And let us share together this wretched despair..."

Having the ability of rot and decay, contact with this Emotionette is quite inadvisable. Only his fellow Soul Puppets and himself are immune to his ability. Others quickly disintegrate upon nearing the air around him or touching his body. Despair's main ability is to control a single target's life span. Once he manages to touch your chest above your heart, your life is now literally in his hands. He can make you drop dead in a simple snap of his fingers, or extend it to make you an immortal. Also, despite his seemingly frail body, he can take quite a beating before collapsing under his injuries. For short, do not judge him by his appearance.

In his mortal life, he is married to Eunice Ordoñez, the spirit in the Emotionette of Fear. Both are a happy couple, but soon, Eunice is killed by a homeless man, with the intention of simply stealing her wallet. Seeing his beloved one murdered, he went into depression, thinking all his plans and the fact that living with his wife has gone the drain, he committed suicide by poisoning himself. Now, despite the fact he has been reunited with his loved one, his current state prevents him from showing his joy and relief. He still continues to live in darkness and sorrow with only his wife by his side to try making him see the bright side of life.

Distress, the Emotionette of Fear
Human/Mortal name: Eunice Ordoñez
Incantation:
"The feeling of fear, unpleasant to hear
Nerve-wracking to see, blood curdling to feel...
Make a decision, you know what is best
Lay down peacefully, or stay in distress...."

Distress is frowned upon other Soul Puppets in the fact she retreats in the simplest provocation or sense of hostility. She rarely fights nor fights back, only doing so when cornered or under the control of a stronger Emotionette. Her main choice of attack is her deafening voice, able to make even the toughest of men succumb to their knees. Around her neck is also a blood-red jewel, absorbing the fears of any being around her... which is actually quite beneficial to her enemies, much to the dismay of her allies. ...many also consider her to be quite attractive, something she wishes she is not.

As explained earlier, she was murdered by a homeless man in her past life. ...however, her death was a bit slow and terrifying, being dragged into a dark alley and stabbed to death. Seeing her killer's eyes gazing into her own is the most horrific sight she has witnessed. This image is also burned into her thoughts, forcing her to relive the moment every time she sees it, turning her into a cowering, sobbing mess.

Bliss, the Emotionette of Joy
Human/Mortal name: Ernest Sullivan
Incantation:
"Happiness is fine, good and sweet,
Yet you can get crazy if you get too much of it
But just wear the smile, don't be too shy,
Bliss is waiting for you, up there in the sky"

Bliss is seemingly the only non-hostile Emotionette, preferring to play and cheer up his opponents/enemies rather than hurt them. His laugh is quite contagious, and hearing it can prove to be dangerous in the middle of the battlefield as you laugh your guts out, defenseless, being a open and easy target. He can also make weird, childish tricks, which can weirdly assist both himself and his allies in battle. But he does have one odd quirk, he has a strong need to, literally, cut a smile into anyone he meets, regardless of his view of them being friend or foe.

His past life is being a stage magician, commonly making amusing (yet amateur) magic tricks. He loves to see happy faces, mostly those of children when he attends birthday parties to amuse them. Then for some odd reason, as he is performing in a party, he suddenly drops down dead. Gasps and cries fill the air as they rush to the unconscious magician. To this day, even Bliss himself does not know why he ended up here in his afterlife. But, he does not really care, as long as there are people to cheer and laughter to hear, he's just as happy and content as they are.

Desire, the Emotionette of Love
Human/Mortal name: Lydia Adams
Incantation:
"Don't know where to go, not knowing what to do
Why don't you come here and let me stay beside you
Ask for anything you want, anything you desire,
As long as you stay here, with me to admire..."

The Emotionette of Love, Desire is quite tricky, using one's preferences in partnership for her own gain. Her gaze can cause those of opposite gender to fall in love with her, no matter what their opinions are about her. Her kiss can paralyze anyone, even women, and her touch can cause numbness to the affected body parts. Plus, once someone is caught in her seductive gaze, she has full control over said victim, making her a puppeteer herself.

Lydia was a prostitute. Walking around looking for lonely or sex-addicted men. Then she herself fell in love with a specific man. She tried to lure him to her grasp, hoping he'd accept her love and return the favor. Unluckily, she was rejected. But... she's persistent. VERY. Every day she'd try to bug the guy into being her partner, until one time the man set her up. He lured him somewhere unseen and killed her silently, finally ridding his harasser. Lydia, now as a spirit, holds no grudge against him, surprisingly... and actually now begs for forgiveness. Her only problem is, though... where is that man in the first place.

Astonish, the Emotionette of Surprise
Human/Mortal name: N/A, although she is referred to as "Shrikize" occasionally
Incantation: N/A

Only able to communicate with simple grunts, snarls, moans, and other simple sounds, one will quickly assume Astonish is mute. ...wrong guess. Her voice may be untalented when it comes to forming recognizable human speech, but she can release devastating shrieks and screams that can make heads explode, literally. Preferring to ambush her enemies, she'll either shock/scare them to death, quickly kill them the traditional way, or injecting them a weird concoction through the needles in her fingertips. Those who are affected by the liquid will slowly turn into extremely paranoid and easily-scared wimps, being startled at simply being talked to. Even the faintest sounds can be heart-rushing for severely afflicted victims. ...also, she wears nothing on her top but a simple drape, and nothing amuses her more than seeing the faces of shocked people when she lifts it up to expose her chest.

Unlike the other six Emotionettes, she is not a "wild" or natural soul, but the result of fusing a part of the souls of two other Emotionettes, them being Distress and Bliss, Fear and Joy, respectively. Other Emotionettes have been created this way, other examples include Vengeance (Anger + Sadness), Paranoia (Sadness + Fear), Ecstasy (Joy + Sanity), etc. ....although she is referred to as "Shrikize" by her allies when they are disguised as ordinary humans.
